Arriving and Departing

We understand that guests may wish to explore more of the Outer Hebrides and with this in mind, we offer the flexibility of 3 and 4 night stays throughout the season, alongside the more usual weekly or fortnightly breaks.

We also appreciate that the ferry schedule and availability can sometimes be difficult for visitors wishing to travel to Harris. With this in mind we offer arrivals and departures on Monday and Friday.

Winter breaks with a 7-night minimum stay available on request.  Contact us to discuss your requirements.

IMMERSE YOURSELF IN NATURE

The Sheep Station is situated on the stunning west coast of the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides and looks directly out onto the sand dunes of Traigh Mhor, the islands of Taransay and Gasker, the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean and the beautiful Harris hills.

Nestled into the surrounding landscape, the house provides uninterrupted and often unexpected vistas from every window – be it golden eagles swooping over the mountains to the rear, oyster catchers all around, Canadian geese flying overhead or simply the sheep and playful lambs providing hours of entertainment.

Sheltered outdoor seating on the decking area is the perfect tranquil space for watching the breath-taking west coast sunsets throughout the spring and the summer months or wrap up in the cooler months for star gazing and possibly a display of the northern lights.

CREATE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE

The Sheep Station was designed and created to offer visitors a peaceful and remote place to holiday without compromising on quality or luxury. It provides the flexibility of a self-catering break with the ambience of a small, boutique hotel.

Guests may choose to simply nestle down and enjoy the many benefits of the house and take in the surrounding views from the comfort of the indoors, but for those wanting to experience the outdoors, the Isle of Harris is the perfect place to holiday with endless walks and hikes to suit all levels, amazing cycling and running routes and of course, abundant opportunities to enjoy the sea with everything from fishing to kayaking, wild swimming and surfing on offer locally.

Harris is the perfect location for wild-life enthusiasts, photographers, artists and creative minds.

And if you are a golfer – the famous Isle of Harris Golf Club is just a mile along the road. Book online or contact the club directly.

April 2026

Thank you for a fabulous few days. Our second visit to The Sheep Station. Just what we needed to recharge. Chilled walks on the beach, great photography opportunities and stunning views from the house. Super fresh seafood at Iasg in Tarbert, locally harvested scallops by Grant and perfectly cooked by Lorna. Needed another week – we will be back soon!
